Posting without my name since I still live here. The building has real maintenance issues, but the tenants look out for each other and the alliance gets things moving when management stalls. Worth it for the community, eyes open about the repairs.
We moved out last month after our lease ended, but wanted to leave an honest note for the next tenants. The neighbors and the tenant alliance are genuinely the best part of living here.Repairs were slow and we had recurring damp in the back bedroom, so document everything and lean on the building chat. We'll miss the people.
Twenty years at Ivy City Apartments. I've seen management companies come and go, but the neighbors are why I stay. When my husband was in the hospital, three different floors brought us dinner.Yes the plumbing on the B-line is temperamental and yes you should photograph everything, but if you want a building that feels like a neighborhood, this is it.
Mixed bag. We lost heat for eleven days last January which was genuinely rough, though it did get resolved with a rent credit after the alliance pushed. Thin walls, charming bones, super means well but is stretched across three buildings.Three stars feels fair: the building has issues, the people make up for most of them.
Honest review: it's an older building with older-building problems, but the community here is the real amenity. We have an organized tenant alliance, a building chat that actually works, and neighbors who show up for each other.Repairs are slow unless you document everything. Do that and you'll be fine. Stay for the stoop sales.
The location and the neighbors are wonderful, that's the two stars. But there has been active mold in my unit for over a month and management's response was to wipe it with bleach and call it condensation. The April leak was never properly traced and now two units on our line have documented growth. Until Hargrove treats remediation as a repair and not a paint job, I can't recommend the building.
Can confirm, I'm two floors up on the same stack and my bathroom wall reads over 60 percent moisture on the meter the alliance lent us.
Common Ground Tenant Alliance here, Maria's mold case is documented and active with DOB. Prospective tenants: ask Hargrove directly what the remediation plan for the B-line stack is.
